Welcome Address from the Chair

Welcome, Columbus State University staff! Staff members, like yourself, play a very critical role in providing the day to day support services that keep the University running smoothly.  Staff Council exists to serve as the voice of this body of hard-working folks to higher administration.  It is our mission to provide an open forum for staff members to raise concerns, offer suggestions, and stay informed on issues that affect the whole campus community.  This is a important time for staff to come together as the university moves toward more transparency and shared governance. I want to make sure our voices are heard

As Staff Council strives to make sure that Staff play a important role in the administration of the university, your participation is needed. You represent a wide variety of opinions, biases, and backstories, and it is our duty to ensure that all voices are heard when tough decision are being made.  You also are a treasure trove of ideas, knowledge and resources that can facilitate improvements at Columbus State Univerity and foster growth and innovation on our campus. Without your involvement and contribution, we cannot succeed in our mission.

I invite you to attend our meetings on the 1st Thursday of each month in the VPAA conference room on the 3rd floor of Richards Hall at 10:00am.  Staff Council meetings are open to ALL staff.  We encourage you to step up to the plate by becoming a regularly attending member.  Remember, you are the link between those who make the decisions and those who must deal with the results.  Make sure that the input of you and your colleagues is heard!

I look forward to serving you for the 2011-2012 year and being your representative to the administration.  Don't hesitate to reach out to myself or other members of the Executive Board if there is anything we can do for you.
